The most obvious difference is that we have a new name: Cherry Lane Garden Centre and Farm Shop. But why does this change reflect who we are as an organisation? And what can you expect from us in the future? Cherry Lane has always been a centre for gardening. In 1820, the property was home to one of the first botanical gardens in the United States. Fast forward to the present day and it is still the perfect location for growing plants. Many years ago, there used to be an independent garden centre here with a focus on plants and flowers. As time went by, it closed down and remained empty until we purchased it and renovated it into our new home. So what does this mean for us? Well, now that we’re known as a Garden Centre and Farm Shop, that means our business revolves around those two things: Garden Centres and Farmshops! New Experiences at Cherry Lane
One of the most exciting changes at Cherry Lane is the introduction of a brand new cafe! You can now enjoy delicious food and drink in a brand new location, with lots of seating and a great view of our gardens. We’re also expanding our retail offerings, with a new range of gifts, books, and gardening accessories. Other additions include a new, larger children’s play area and a Living Wall. The Living Wall is an indoor vertical garden that’s great for all kinds of plants, including fruit and vegetables. Over time, the wall will transform from a small planting into something much bigger and taller. With the Living Wall, we hope to inspire people to learn more about gardening and growing their own plants.
Events and Activities
Cherry Lane is committed to bringing you the best possible events and activities. We host everything from crafting workshops to music events – and even the occasional book reading and gardening talk. Look out for our events calendar to see what’s coming up and make sure you don’t miss out. Food and Beverage Offerings
We have a brand new menu at the Cafe with all kinds of deliciousness, like seasonal salads, fresh sandwiches, and freshly baked cakes. The menu is designed to be shared, so you can try out a few things at once and make sure you leave with a full stomach. There’s also a selection of drinks on offer, including cold brew coffee, fresh juices, and smoothies – perfect for both kids and adults. Another great addition to our food and beverage offerings is our weekly Farmers Market. You can pop in on any Sunday between 10am and 2pm for fresh produce, homegrown by local farmers.
